Web Developer
WBGO seeks engaging, intellectually curious self-starters with strong
communication skills and high energy to help us make a dynamic radio and
online experience for music-lovers. Must be open to creative thinking,
team effort, and making something new every day.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Website maintenance and design
* Maintenance and development of internal web applications
* Content Management System integration and development of Social
Media applications
* Collaborate with production, design and project management
resources to set requirements, establish time frames, test and complete
site development projects on schedule
* Facilitate and enable online digital distribution strategies
(RSS, blogger outreach, podcasts, etc.)
* Minor IT support
* Other projects and tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
* Demonstrated technical proficiency with Web design and
development, including HTML, PHP, ASP, CSS, XML, JavaScript, AJAX, MySQL
* Working knowledge of content management systems and blog software
(Drupal, Wordpress, etc.)
* Content distribution techniques, including RSS, social media and APIs
* Flash and ActionScript
* Minimum of two years full-time work experience developing online
tools, features and community elements for online news sites
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required
* Excellent critical thinking skills that demonstrate independent
judgment and decision-making
* Ability to prioritize and handle several projects at once
