I don't think there's any denying that open source projects that don't have
businesses behind them are struggling to find models that work:

   - Joomla has problems as you mentioned.
   - I still see huge projects starting on Drupal 6 because those developers
   don't believe Drupal 7 is stable yet.
   - Firefox is being rapidly overhauled by Google Chrome.

Just because community open source projects have challenges doesn't mean we
should give up and turn to business-owned open source. More reason to roll
up our sleeves.
