[Janet Sullivan]

I have JCE editor installed.  I didnt realize the editor uploaded images differently than the media manager...
the interface looked the same to my novice eyeballs.

If it's in a server, chances are it has some restrictions towards how the Flash Uploader script works in Joomla.

Have you considered using JCEditor for your upload/media managemnt needs?
