I concur with the opinion that the status quo seems to be working ok.

There's the moderately OT aside now and then ("Can I bring my bicycle to
Digital Pulp?"), which the very name 'talk' doesn't discourage (as Hans
has pointed out), but nobody seems to have a problem with that. And yes,
when somebody started taxing the community's patience, the community dealt
with it.
