I have not worked with lunarpages.com, because I have my own servers at 
Server Beach ($99/month). Yes, it's more than the hosted programs, but I 
get my own boxen, and they let me manage them the way I want.

Having your own box means PHP gets built the way you need it, and your 
disk layouts can be done the way you want it done.  I'd strongly suggest 
going this route unless cost is the biggest factor.

No disclaimer needed, I'm just a happy customer.
