I don't see desktop applications as an enemy, but rather as a means
to fulfill single user specific need. If one wants everyone to "work"
together then web applications are certainly a solution. However,
both solutions have trade-offs and mutually exclusive
advantages/disadvantages.
I hope php programmers will be busy for many years, but many of the
languages that I sunk my teeth into have passed on to the big null in
the sky.
