Maybe the problem is that
https://svn.cakephp.org/repo/branches/1.2.x.x/cake1.2 actually doesn't
exist.
If you open it in a web browser and poke around a little, you'll see
that the correct url is:
https://svn.cakephp.org/repo/branches/1.2.x.x/cake/
