Maybe IT people are devalued because when the bosses aren't looking,
we're jacking around online on mailing lists?

Food for thought... I'm one of the mods in the DCPHP community and I
often get pinged by people looking to hire, make an entrance in the
community, or just make their presence known for future recruiting.
Who do you think I send them to?    The people who provide value,
insight, and thoughtful questions or the people who make a nuisance of
themselves?

Your reputation has a direct impact on your billing rate and the
opportunities that appear to you.

No, not giving any names... I highlight the good people, not tear down
the bad ones.  They do that on their own. ;)
