It is arrogance and managerial ineptitude. With a monopoly command and
millions of lemmings blindly following it is just too convenient to ignore
standards, trends, and reality. Just look at the overpriced crapware that
Microsoft puts out yet being hopelessly behind in virtualization and cloud
technology. As long as people keep buying the stuff and the number of
Microsoft-only shops grows there isn't much incentive to change anything. If
you want Microsoft to shape up you need to get a lot of people to stop buying
their cruddy products, especially in the enterprise arena. Good luck!
