Thanks for everyone's responses, this is just something that
happened
in the last couple weeks. I've seen the stability probs on
Linux, it
feels like a Java app, etc. I can live with all that because it
does
what I need it to do, and I have plenty of memory for it to play
in.

It sounds as if it's local to my workstation. I don't know if
that
changes my approach to the problem, but at least I can rule out
waiting on bugfix release.
